About Me

I'm George, a Specialist Pain Management Physiotherapist with 5 years of experience in NHS services, focusing on chronic pain, rheumatological, and chronic respiratory conditions.

I currently work in a Scottish NHS Pain Management Service as well as remotely as a pain coach. I've witnessed the transformative impact of coaching on quality of life and how it can help people to live a life consistent with their values and feel more joyful, fulfilled and stimulated.

I typically work with any persistent pain conditions such as:

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (CFS/ME)

  • Polytrauma

  • Persistent Low Back Pain/Sciatica

  • Persistent Neck Pain

  • Inflammatory conditions (e.g. Rheumatoid Arthritis/Axial Spondyloarthropathy)

  • Osteoarthritis

  • General persistent muscle or joint pains

  • Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS)

If you want to regain control over your pain, reach out for a free initial consultation to explore how we can collaboratively improve your situation.

I'm available remotely for telephone and video sessions. If you are within Edinburgh or close by I am more than happy to discuss working with you in the comfort of your own home.

My Journey

Before transitioning to physiotherapy, I studied Politics & Philosophy and gained experience in Circus skills. Instructing and performing for seven years - I honed my ability to effectively communicate and educate individuals of all ages and backgrounds, adapting to various environments and events.

Aiming for a career in Law after completing my undergraduate degree in Politics and International Relations, my trajectory took a turn in 2012 due to a severe cycling accident. The accident resulted in numerous fractures, substantial nerve damage, and a punctured lung, leading to a prolonged period of hospitalisation, wheelchair dependency, and the process of relearning how to walk.

Enduring five years of persistent pain, multiple surgeries, and pain medication. I received support from a variety of healthcare services and professionals. Through this journey, I gradually conquered the challenges of pain and disability. It fostered a new passion for rehabilitation, empowerment, and aiding others to navigate similar experiences of persistent pain.

Every individual's journey with persistent pain is unique, yet through my personal and professional encounters, I have witnessed the remarkable potential for resilience and triumph over seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
